Pohatu Kiwi Batch

Our beach side cottage has sleeping for 3, a shower, full electric range, microwave, electric jug, toaster and a good range of cooking and eating utensils. All bedding and linen is provided and the unit has an electric heater.

There is a short walk to a flush toilet. The unit is situated in the middle of the penguin colony and not far from the safe swimming beach. 

Colonial cottage.

This delightful authentic colonial cottage may not have electricity but it's old world charm will appeal to the romantic, candles for lighting and a large open fire for heating. The cheat is the solar panel on the roof and the wet back in the fireplace that gives you the luxury of hot water and the well equipped kitchen with gas cooking.

The detached shower block has a hot shower and the composting toilet is a short walk out from the cottage. The cottage backs onto a stream in a secluded setting still well within the penguin colony and just a 10 to 15 minute walk from the beach.

There is sleeping for 2 in the double brass bed stead in the main room downstairs and sleeping for another three upstairs in the attic if required for a family. 

Pohatu Annex

The lodge has full kitchen facilities and sleeping for up to 6.  There is a short walk to shared bathroom toilet facilities. It is also in the middle of the penguin colony and not far from the beach.

Although we like to give our clients separate units or rooms some sharing of facilities such as kitchen, living-room and bathroom may be required. Any request on preference for privacy (eg. honey moon) we will give accomodation to suit.
All bedding and linen is provided in all our accommodation.

Accommodation outside the tours is available for up to two nights at $80 a night. Please note a 4WD vehicle is strongly recommended for any freedom visits to Pohatu.
