The package enables you to enjoy all activities Pohatu has to offer and free time to explore or relax. Known as the Wildside of Banks Peninsula it is an area that commands more than just a brief visit.

Package includes:

• Scenic 4WD adventure over one of the highest passes on Banks Peninsula
• Including on demand photo stops
• Drive through spectacular and dramatic scenery from crater rim to volcanic cliffs and Akaroa Heads Lighthouse Reserve.
• Experience our conservation projects in action as we monitor penguins and endemic fauna and learn of protection programs.
• Visit the beautiful Beech forest of the Tutakakahikura Scenic Reserve. A two and a half hour valley bush walk can be included along the world famous Banks Peninsula Track past beautiful waterfalls cascading over ancient lava flows to the sea.
• One night's stay on a working sheep station and in the middle of the penguin colony in our cosy self catering ACCOMMODATION within meters from the safe swimming beach.
• Enjoy our great Sea Kayaking experience along the dramatic coastline of Pohatu Marine Reserve with endemic wildlife viewing opportunities (note: weather conditions permitting) - a small additional charge ($10).
• Guided evening penguin tour to view White-flippered Penguins (in season) - complimentary.

48 hr Package

The 48 hour option gives you a further 24 hours at Pohatu for just the accomnodation price of $75 a couple. This gives you more time to explore the many lovely tracks on the property, more time to get the best conditions for sea kayaking or to simply sit back and soak up the tranquil atmosphere.
