- Follow the guide/our vehicle and park your vehicle just outside Akaroa
- Enjoy a stunning scenic drive with photo stops along the way and up to 700 meters on the edge of Akaroa extinct volcano crater rim.
- At the entrance of Akaroa harbour and Akaroa Lighthouse scenic reserve, you will stand on high cliffs looking at a giant spyglass. 10 to 45 minutes’ walk is available depending on your fitness and desire.
- 2 pm to 3.5/5 pm
- Optional self-guided bush walk through the Tutakakahikura scenic reserve (2 to 3 hours walking down to your accommodation), there are different starting points available.
- Free time to relax and settle in your accommodation before the complimentary evening penguin tour. Before dropping you off for the bush walk, the guide will let you know of the exact timing of the evening penguin tour as it changes due to the sunset.
- The next morning, starting at 8.30 am, you can add the guided sea-kayaking trip before being brought back to Akaroa just before midday.
From May to August, the bush walk might not be accessible due to the ground being too muddy, and we might swap the package around, starting with the sea-kayaking safari (if you've chosen the option), and visit the Akaroa head scenic reserve the following morning.
